Friday, Feb 23 – Mark 4:30-32

30 Jesus said, “How can I describe the Kingdom of God? What story should I use to illustrate it? 31 It is like a mustard seed planted in the ground. It is the smallest of all seeds, 32 but it becomes the largest of all garden plants; it grows long branches, and birds can make nests in its shade.”

PRAYER

Lord, when I read these words in Mark 4, my understanding of your kingdom isn’t big enough! Today, help me pay attention to where your kingdom is growing in my life and in the world around me, Thank you that because of how your kingdom is growing, creation is finding rest and shade and peace in you. You once taught us to pray “thy kingdom come” and even though it might start small, the work and influence of your church continues today. Help us to bring about your kingdom, through us! Amen.
