Mark 1:40-42

40 A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” he said. 41 Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” 42 Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed.

PRAYER

Jesus, people didn’t touch lepers – but you did — willingly. And when you touched him, you weren’t made “unclean;” he was made “clean.” Would you make me willing to “touch” (love in practical, personal ways) those whom our society says are “untouchable”? And would you not allow the “uncleanness” of this world to define my life, but allow the “cleanness” of your life in me to bring hope and healing to a broken world? Thank you. Amen
