DEEPER: A School of Discipleship

Wednesday nights at 7 (during the school year)


DEEPER for adults – We offer both a core curriculum (6-week classes designed to help each person build a solid foundation of Christian understanding and practice) and a variety of classes for continued growth and spiritual formation for those desiring to continue to learn and grow.


Our current class dates (Oct. 26 – Dec. 7 (won't meet on Nov. 23)):


CORE CLASSES:

Moving Toward Maturity: Spiritual Practices for Growing Christians  (facilitator: James “Jamos” Amos) – Discover and experience some of the spiritual practices that have been helping Christians grow deeper in their relationship with God throughout the centuries.

Rediscovering Church (facilitator: Joel Atwell) – What was God’s intention for “the church?” Who are we? What are we supposed to be doing? How are we intended to live?


CONTINUED LEARNING:

Life of Jesus: Who He is and Why He Matters (facilitator: Doug  Atteberry) – Join historian John Dickson on this journey. This DVD series was filmed on  location in Israel and introduces what we know of Jesus’ birth, teaching, deeds, crucifixion and resurrection. Along the way he also deals with issues such as the “existence of God,” the  “problem of suffering” and “belief in miracles.”

Putting Away Childish Things, Dr. David Seamands (facilitator: Rick Hanson) – Ever wonder “Why did I do that?” or, better yet, “Why do I keep responding that way?” This study explores both how past experiences and behavior patterns hold us back from reaching spiritual and emotional maturity, and God’s healing power and plan. This will be a book discussion class. This book is out of print, however used copies may be purchased online.

 

 

 

 DEEPER for teens – “Rev” -- a mid-week opportunity to “rev” your spiritual engine through worship and Bible study.

 

DEEPER for kidz – Hiz Quiz Kidz-- takes children through an in-depth study of a particular book of the Bible in a fun, exciting and kid-friendly way. (And for those desiring to participate formally in our Bible quizzing program this program helps prepare them.)
